From 30 November to 3 December 2009 a delegation of Danish businessmen led by the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark in the Russian Federation Per Carlsen visited Krasnodar Region. The delegation was representing ten companies working in the fields of fuel and energy, housing and communal services, and construction. The main aim of the visit was to hold negotiations with heads of the Administration of Krasnodar Region on developing bilateral cooperation in the above mentioned fields, as well as to hold meetings and negotiations with representatives of business circles in the region. Within the framework of the programme visits were also made to housing and communal services and fuel and energy facilities in the Region.
During the visit, on 30 November, a meeting was held between the First Deputy Head (Governor) of Krasnodar Region, Dzhambulat Khatuov, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark in Russia Per Carlsen and members of the Danish delegation. Krasnodar Region was represented at the meeting by heads of specialised departments in construction, housing and communal services, architecture and town planning, investment and project monitoring, the fuel and energy complex, and the Department of External Economic Activity.
The Danish delegation was invited to examine the possibility of carrying out joint projects in the fields of renewable energy sources and introduction of energy efficient technology, as well as geological surveying of mineral resources in Krasnodar Region, projects to modernise health care, housing and communal services, and in the sphere of construction (Azov City, Novaya Anapa, reconstruction of the centre of Krasnodar, and construction of toll roads with motorway services, among others). The Kuban is interested in the Danish experience in the field of the ecology, protection and propagation of biological resources, as well as further development of projects already in progress.
There is already a range of agreements, mainly in the agribusiness sphere, as the basis for agreements between the Administration of Krasnodar Region and the Kingdom of Denmark. The First Vice Governor expressed the hope that in the near future business contacts between the region and the Kingdom of Denmark in the fields of fuel and energy and housing and communal services will reach a new level.
Also on 30 November a meeting was held between the Ambassador and the Head of Krasnodar, Vladimir Evlanov, during which the parties expressed their readiness in the future to strengthen bilateral cooperation, in particular in the fields of fuel and energy and housing and communal services, to continue to develop cooperation within the framework of the Danish Good Neighbour Programme and to examine new possibilities for developing humanitarian contacts.
On 2 December the delegation visited Sochi, where negotiations were held with representatives of the Administration of the resort town on future prospects for developing bilateral cooperation.
