The aim of the business trip by Mr Cvetkovic and those accompanying him was to develop cooperation and extend trade, economic and cultural contacts between Krasnodar Region and Serbia.  The visit was timed to coincide with the opening of the National Exhibition of Serbia, taking place under the slogan through friendship we build the future.  As part of the visit a meeting took place on 5 November between Mr Cvetkovic and heads of the Administration of Krasnodar Region and Krasnodar city, where questions of strengthening external economic links between Krasnodar Region and the Republic of Serbia were discussed, as well as new prospects for development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

After the meeting the leadership of the Administration of Krasnodar Region and Krasnodar city set off with members of the Serbian delegation to the pavilion on Ploshad Oktyabrskoi Revolyutsii, where the opening ceremony of the National Exhibition of Serbia took place.  Approximately 60 leading Serbian companies, presenting examples of their products, took part in the exhibition.

Later Mirko Cvetkovic took part in the work of the Investment Conference, whose aim was to present the economic potential of the Republic of Serbia to businessmen in Krasnodar Region.  At negotiations held as part of round table discussions the representatives of business circles in Krasnodar Region were able to learn about the business proposals of leading Serbian companies in the spheres of construction, the construction materials industry, furniture production, production of children's clothing and shoes, mass consumer goods production, as well as carry out negotiations with representatives of Serbian firms.

At the last meeting with representatives of the Serbian Diaspora, Yugoslavian Society Yugovichi, Mr Cvetkovic and Evgenii Muravev discussed the possibility of opening consular representation of the Republic of Serbia in Krasnodar Region, problems and questions of documentation, registration and quota setting for foreign work force in the Russian Federation, and questions of dual citizenship.

The visit ended with a proposal from the Serbian side to plan a similar event annually, and also to hold a National Exhibition of Businesses of Krasnodar Region in June next year in Belgrade.

The exhibition continued its work until 7 November.  It was open not only to residents of the Kuban, but to representatives of other regions in the Southern Federal District.  The Minister for Trade and Services of the Republic of Serbia Mr Milosavlevich held a meeting with the management teams of such large companies as retail firms Tander, O'KEI, Lenta and Lotos Land.  Questions were discussed of the possibility of supplying Serbian products to the trade networks of the Kuban.
