The World Economic Forum opened in Switzerland

On 27 January the World Economic Forum opened at Davos under the motto “Rethink, Redesign, Rebuild”. Unlike last year, when the participants discussed the ways of overcoming the global crisis, the topic of this meeting will consist of analysis of taken actions, discussion of the current situation in the global economy as well as finding ways to further system development. The heads of state, politicians, bankers, businessmen and top managers of leading companies will discuss global financial problems. The forum will last till 31th January. About 2,5 thousand representatives from 90 countries will attend this year's annual meeting at Davos.

The Davos forum is focused on six main themes: how to create value basics, how to strengthen the economy and improve the social situation, how to reduce global risks and the specific system errors, how to guarantee sustainable development, how to ensure security, how to create effective institutions. The delegates of the forum will try to find the answer to all these questions within the framework of hundreds round tables planned by a program. At the last moment the topic of Haiti came in the agenda. Participants will talk about the assistance to the victims of the earthquake. The former U.S. president, UN special envoy on Haiti Bill Clinton is expected at Davos.

Our country will be represented at Davos by the Head of the Ministry of Finance, Vice Prime Minister Alexei Kudrin and a large delegation of Russian businessmen: Chairman of the Board of Sberbank Herman Gref, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the investment company Troika Dialog Ruben Vardanyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Severstal Alexei Mordashov, Executive Director of VimpelCom Boris Nemsich.

The Krasnodar region is represented at the Davos World Economic Forum in the advertisement of IX Investment Economic Forum SOCHI 2010 to be held in Sochi from 16 to 19 September 2010.
