From 16 to 18 March 2011 an official Canadian delegation headed by Minister-Counselor for Commercial and Economic Affairs of the Embassy of Canada to Russia visited Krasnodar
From 16 to 18 March 2011 an official Canadian delegation headed by Minister - Counselor for Commercial and Economic Affairs of the Embassy of Canada to Russia Mr. Klaus Buttner visited Krasnodar. The delegation also included: director of International Relations of Housing and Mortgage Corporation of Vancouver (Canada) Mrs. Laura Diakiv, director of business development of Sovan International Company Mr. Mike Ingel and adviser on business development of the Embassy of Canada to Russia Peter Teslenko.
The purpose of the visit was to hold meetings and talks with the executive authorities of the Krasnodar Region Administration. The questions to discuss were cooperation development between the Krasnodar Region and Canada in housing, use of new technologies in architecture and urban planning, including preparation for the Olympics-2014.
On 16 March 2011 members of the delegation met with the Deputy Head of Administration (Governor) of the Krasnodar Region Alexey Agafonov. The important question was the possibility of joint projects in building of affordable housing using Canadian technologies in the framework of the regional housing program realization. The Agency of the Krasnodar region development examined the construction and the possibilities of mortgage extension taking into account 60 years’ experience of the State Canadian Housing and Mortgage Corporation. The possibilities of Canadian housing construction will be demonstrated during the X International Investment Forum "Sochi-2011" which is to be held from 15 to 18 September 2011.
The official visit also included meetings with the representatives of the executive authorities of the Krasnodar Region Administration, exactly with the Head of the Department of Architecture and Town BuildingYury Rysin, the Deputy Head of the Department of Construction A. Mohni, the Head of the division of industry development and municipal improvement of the Department of Housing D. Burlay, as well as the first Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Krasnodar Region Viktor Kvasov.
During the talks the questions of architectural and design solutions for affordable housing, transfer and use of wood-frame construction technologies, as well as technologies and standards for low-rise building were touched on.
According to the results of the mission the Canadian delegation showed high interest to the Krasnodar Region and plans to continue and develop cooperation.
