On 4 June 2010 the Republic of Abkhazia hosted a business mission of Krasnodar Region
Existing sustainable social, cultural and economic relations make Abkhazia one of the most promising partners of Krasnodar Region. Relationships between Abkhazia and Krasnodar Region continue to develop.
On 4 June 2010 Sukhumi, the Republic of Abkhazia hosted a business mission of Krasnodar Region. The organizers of the visit was the non-profit organization Association of Exporters and Importers of Kuban and the Department of External Economic Activity of Krasnodar Region.
The delegation headed by the head of the Department of External Economic Activity of Krasnodar Region Alexander Tkachenko, included the Deputy Head of municipality of Sochi Igor Yashnov, Head of Administration of Krasnodar Region in Gagra Region of Abkhazia O. Kachalov, representative of the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Abkhazia V. Novikov, head of the non-profit organization Association of Exporters and Importers of Kuban Roman Onishchenko, head of the Krasnodar Customs Alexander Hodakov, representatives of executive bodies and thirty Kuban exporters and producers of goods and services.
Receiving side was headed by Vice Prime Minister of the Republic of Abkhazia Dmitry Tarba. The delegation of the Republic of Abkhazia included the Minister of Economy Konstantin Ozgan, Minister of Agriculture Yuri Akaba, Minister of Health Zurab Marshania, Chairman of State Customs Office of the Republic of Abkhazia Said Tarkil, heads of state companies, representatives of the leading wholesale organizations of the Republic, as well as production companies interested in developing cooperation with enterprises of Krasnodar Region.
Problem issues and prospects of cooperation of Kuban businesses with Abkhaz counterparts discussed in the framework of thematic round tables. The focus was discussion of trade-economic cooperation of Krasnodar Region and the Republic of Abkhazia in the field of agriculture and processing industry, industry and innovation, as well as prospects for the development of trade and investment cooperation by the parties in the construction industry.
Participants of the event of the joint work could find touch points on trade and economic cooperation in trade in a variety of industries, as well as discuss possible joint projects.
During the round tables the attention was paid to creating a single infrastructure, trade, economic and investment cooperation between Krasnodar Region and the Republic of Abkhazia. According to bilateral agreement the establishment of shopping center in the territory of Abkhazia is planned. The participants appreciated the initiative of the authorities, because this structure will facilitate the transparency of transactions and joint projects of the Kuban and the Abkhaz partners. The organization of the shopping center were assigned to the non-profit organization "Association of Exporters and Importers of Kuban".
